"Where I Wander"

House of Waters, consisting of Hammered Dulcimer innovator Max ZT and master of the six-string bass Moto Fukushima, release their new EP Where I Wander, out now on GroundUP Music. Featuring two brand new songs, two reimagined, and an improvisation allows the band to showcase how far a composition can develop.

In celebration of the new release, House of Waters is debuting a new video for the single “Moon,” inspired by their film score of Le Voyage Dans La Lune, released by Alamo Drafthouse.

“Moon” attempts to evoke the thrill and loneliness of the immense journey in Le Voyage Dans La Lune. Incorporating the Argentinian tango and milonga rhythms, “Moon” is a curious, exciting, and restful journey into the unknown.

Following the success of Rising (GroundUP Music, 2019) and their years touring the world, House of Waters embarks on their next chapter of music with their Where I Wander EP. The EP reimagines two of their older pieces, showcasing the potential of what a composition can develop into. This curiosity emerges as the common theme in each of the five pieces throughout the EP. Alongside their reworked compositions sits two brand new pieces focused on the progress, isolation and reprioritization that the world has collectively experienced over the last few years. These new compositions signal a change in direction for the band and hint at their path forward. In the middle of the EP lies the title track, an improvised piece devoted to the moment. With House of Waters’ strong background and unending pursuit of music as a practice of presentness, their new EP is a true glimpse into the minds of Max ZT and Moto Fukushima as two prolific composers.
